ACCOMMODATION

The Aussie Masters is pleased to announce that FedLiving at Federation University, Ballarat, has come on board as the official tournament accommodation partner, and they have given us a great deal. Many of the organised social activities will be held at Fed Living.

Please contact us if you are interested in staying at Fed Living and to take advantage of the group booking discount.

The accommodation that we are organising on behalf of the players is a private room in one of the dorms available. The rooms are only for one person and each dorm has 10 or 12 of these private rooms along with two shared toilets / showers. I stayed in these dorms in 2022 for the Vic Open and I do not recall there being any difficulties. Since players come and go at different times of the day, sharing toilets isn’t too bad. There is going to be a lot of complexity already with some players staying two days and others 3 or more so we probably will not be able to further divide dorms into male and female dorms.

The cost for the dorm is $700 per night but we will collect $75 per night per player, which will hopefully balance things out if one or more of the dorms are not full. We hope you are ok with that. Any surplus funds from this, or the tournament in general, will go towards the Ballarat Sports Club who are earmarking it for the further development of the local courses. The minimum stay is 2 nights but we do have players staying from Wednesday until Monday so there is plenty of options to stay more than two nights.

If you are looking for private accommodation or are a couple or family who all want to stay together then you will have to organise your accommodation through Fed Living directly. The phone number is 03 5327 9480 and email is fedliving@federation.edu.au.These options are limited so be quick.

All those staying at Fedliving will also have access to the great room where we will be holding a lot of social activities and the pool, gym and basketball courts.

We are also considering installing a temporary 6 or 9 hole course on the grounds of FedLiving but that will be dependent on the number of players staying at FedLiving, the number of days they are staying and if we get volunteers to help set it up on Thursday and break it down on Sunday.
